Should You Get a Business Credit Card?
Perks of Having a Business Credit Card
Many people are frightened by the thought of getting a business credit card. After all, credit cards have earned a bad name because many people have managed to dig themselves into a significant amount of debt with their credit cards. If used responsibly, however, a business credit card can provide you with all of the following perks:
Make you appear more professional to your clients because having a credit card makes you look like an established business
Provide you with a free form of advertisement since you can put your company name and logo on a business credit card
Help you keep your business expenses separate from your personal expenses, which is particularly helpful at tax time
Allow you to give cards to your employees or business partners while still being able to monitor their spending and placing separate credit limits on different cards
Make it possible for you to get a quick business loan if needed to help take your business to the next level
While using a business credit card irresponsibly can certainly lead to an overwhelming amount of debt, using it wisely can help you take your business to the next level.
Picking the Perfect Business Credit Card
There are many factors you should consider when selecting a business credit card. One of the most important factors you should consider is the interest rate on the credit card. This is particularly important if you plan to use the card to help you get your business going rather than obtaining a traditional business loan from a bank. In this case, you want to find the card that will offer you the lowest interest rate possible. In fact, if you are applying for a new card, you should also look into the various introductory rates offered by business credit cards. You may be able to find one that will offer a 0% APR or a very low interest rate for the first several months.
If you don’t plan on borrowing against the credit card and carrying a balance from one billing cycle to the next, the interest rate may not be your biggest concern. In this case, you should look for a card that offers attractive benefits to its cardholders, such as discounts at certain stores or insurance coverage. You might also want to consider obtaining a business credit card with a rewards program, which can actually help you make money from the credit card if you pay it off at the end of each billing cycle in order to avoid paying finance charges.
One final note, in applying for credit make sure you are dealing with a reputable company. There are scammers and fraudulent companies just waiting to take advantage of you.

The importance of customer service!
Contohlah like this: Some days ago, I just seek to purchase the number of service IM2 Broom Unlimited. I realize that for the first time this number is not easily obtained because of lonjakkan request. Number of the purchased price bandrol by Indosat 150rb at this, generally, if we find in some stores a few months ago, even with the price can be obtained only 120rb saja.
Indeed, here the law and request a quote valid, when the demand is high while the goods are offered not as a request, it is happening is the occurrence of scarcity of goods in the market and move prices rise because goods are empty. Be the first number I buy these at 150rb.
Well, the interesting thing here is related to customer service is like this. Day friday right after I returned from my office, I immediately go to a shopping center in the Gatot Subroto. I just go directly IM2 Customer Center, there appeared to prime IM2 out and greeted me with a friendly there. I was then asked where in this building I can get perdananya, and then I was told in the central purchasing a mobile phone shop that is famous in Jakarta (Oke Shop) is located 1 floor of IM2 Customer Center. Learning is good here even though I do not buy goods because the goods out there, but the customer service personnya want to give information, and of course this example of good customer service!
In fact when I went to Oke Shop, there shall be found if the goods are not there also. More - more customer service is going good. So not surprisingly Oke Shop can be one of a growing business in Indonesia. Shop by Oke Finally, I also direferensikan to a store that is near the Giant precisely.
Is the interesting thing happened. After the treatment I get 2x customer service is good, then this is an example of customer service can be a learning materials for all of us. Thank you once because of this incident so I can learn about customer service. When I ask the customer service, I was told that the price is 150rb, happy of course i get the goods you are looking for and the price in accordance with bandrol. I was then close to the ATM's there to immediately take the money because when the accident does not carry cash and money in the counter is not able to debit transactions.
Interestingly after taking the money and I want to pay, arrived - arrived only the seller said that the price changes to 175rb. I was certainly surprised. Lho koq bisa? With entengnya he said this program is new again. I also ask - ask again in the heart of the new program? And then I is shown with a copy of the note price change, but written with ballpoint 150rb color stacked another 150 digit number with 175. I also realize this is certainly at the time I take the money in the ATM. Finally, I shall not be buying there. Not because 25rbnya difference, but because I feel a need to provide a good learning about customer service and integrity. Because I feel like this is created - created.
Maybe you all had experienced things like this may be even worse again. But my point here is, what make us win in small things but for our long-term losers. With conditions like this happens then people may not promote a positive thing for business, products and services but we promote the negative. Khan too with the process we have to do to build the image of our past. Yuk let us start this day the same - the same study to improve our customer service ...

7 Steps To Success
One of the biggest mistakes that people in general do is to choose the wrong focus.
Size does not see the success of the property, or increase the level of success. If you try to grow just a little each day, you will soon see positive results in your life.
2 more appreciative of the incident.
Genesis-keajadian particular in the life of encouraging us to take a decision.
While the process of change and which have a value pertumbuhanlah means. If you want to ascend to the next level, berjuanglah for sustainable growth.
3 Do not wait for inspiration.
A basketball player a reliable, Jery West, once said "You will not be able to complete the work if you only work when you feel happy to work.
"Those who have been able to achieve success do so because they motivate themselves and try to keep the most of their costs at the time. To be successful, you must be diligent.
4 Willing to sacrifice the opportunity for fun.
One of the principles of academic teaching "Pay now, play later" to all things in life, you have to pay the price. You can choose to pay for them in front or behind.
If you pay in advance, you will get the award at the end and perhargaan will be rather sweet.
5 Impikan something that big.
Dream of something big.
Dream things that do not have small gunanaya. Robert J. Kriegel and Louis Patler, author of the book to write "we can not find the limits of human beings. All tests, the size and the finish line in the world can never measure the human potential. "
When someone chase the dream, he will exert every effort, even beyond the limitations attempt itself. The potential that exists in ourselves and not many that have not been used. If you think you create a boundary limit.
6 Set your priorities.
One similarity of the people who have achieved success is: they are experts in managing the time. Is the most successful they have been mengorganisis themselves.
Henry Kaiser, the founder of Kaiser Aluminum and Kaiser Permanente Health Care said, "every minute is used for planning, cut 2 minutes needed to pelaksanaanya" you will never again be able to reach the time that has terbuang. So manfaatkanlah
7 sacrifice for progress.
Does not have anything that can be without sacrifice. Life is full of time-critical time when you have the opportunity to exchange something of value for something else. Wide-open eyes wide to time and so always make sure you benefit, not a loss.
If you are dedicated to the seventh step, you will be growing and you will surely succeed. The growth you may not be immediately visible, but you will soon see progress in yourself. Although people can not see it, do not be disappointed. Keep trying. In the end you will succeed.

The Business Model
For some start-ups, familiar business models cannot be applied, so a new model must be devised. Not only is the business model important, in some cases the innovation rests not in the product or service but in the business model itself.
In their paper, The Role of the Business Model in Capturing Value from Innovation, Henry Chesbrough and Richard S. Rosenbloom present a basic framework describing the elements of a business model.
Given the complexities of products, markets, and the environment in which the firm operates, very few individuals, if any, fully understand the organization's tasks in their entirety. The technical experts know their domain and the business experts know theirs. The business model serves to connect these two domains as shown in the following diagram:
Role of the Business Model
Technical
Inputs
Business
Model
Economic
Outputs
A business model draws on a multitude of business subjects, including economics, entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, operations, and strategy. The business model itself is an important determinant of the profits to be made from an innovation. A mediocre innovation with a great business model may be more profitable than a great innovation with a mediocre business model.
In their research, Chesbrough and Rosenbloom searched literature from both the academic and the business press and identified some common themes. They list the following six components of the business model:
1.Value proposition - a description the customer problem, the product that addresses the problem, and the value of the product from the customer's perspective.
2.Market segment - the group of customers to target, recognizing that different market segments have different needs. Sometimes the potential of an innovation is unlocked only when a different market segment is targeted.
3.Value chain structure - the firm's position and activities in the value chain and how the firm will capture part of the value that it creates in the chain.
4.Revenue generation and margins - how revenue is generated (sales, leasing, subscription, support, etc.), the cost structure, and target profit margins.
5.Position in value network - identification of competitors, complementors, and any network effects that can be utilized to deliver more value to the customer.
6.Competitive strategy - how the company will attempt to develop a sustainable competitive advantage, for example, by means of a cost, differentiation, or niche strategy.

Light Manufacturing
The Light Manufacturing Environment
During the process of manufacture value is primarily added by the application of skill to physical or raw materials. Until recently such skill resided solely in the heads of specialized craftsmen. They understood all the complicated, precise, and sometimes delicate steps needed to produce the end product. They were blacksmiths, silversmiths, and coopers. With the advent of non-human power, e.g. water, electricity, wind, solar, and nuclear, each step in the manufacturing process could be broken down and performed by different people, each of whom had learned the skills required to perform one or more pieces of the overall process. Today this essential craft knowledge is most often contained in a computer program that runs a computerize machine tool. While much this can also be said of heavy manufacture, light manufacture is most often associated with batches or discrete production runs, whereas heavy manufacturing usually means continuous processing as in the assembly of automobiles or the manufacture of gasoline and petroleum bi-products.
In the US light manufacturing is under increasing pressure from foreign competition. Over the past 50 years heavy manufacturing including iron, steel, aluminum, chrome and many of the products that are made of these metals has moved first to Japan, then Korea, then India, and now China. At the same time technological advances in computerization and robotic fabricating equipment means that previously strong light manufacturing businesses such as furniture, auto and home accessories, hand tools, and a host of other light manufacture industries have been heavily pressured. This is particularly true where these light manufacturers have held the most profitable, highest volume segments of their industries. According to Industry Week magazine’s June 2003 issue, foreign companies invested $52 billion into China in 2002. Ultimately this investment will translate into lower US industrial production. Patents may provide some protection, but the cost of lawsuits, the difficulty of collecting from offshore companies, and the sheer market reach of offshore competitors makes patents less a barrier than they were when the US manufacturers enjoyed US market exclusivity.
The Keys to Success
With foreign manufacturers cherry picking the best and most profitable pieces of American light manufacturing business many are going out of business. How frustrating it must be to have the knowledge, the suppliers, the markets, the equipment, computers, and skilled employees and watch your business dissolve day by day. And what a shock it is to walk down the vanity cabinet and bookshelf isles of any Home Depot and realize that you cannot make these items yourself for what it would cost you to buy the materials right there in that same Home Depot. Last week I found a short sleeved shirt for $14. My gosh it dawned on me that I bought my first short sleeve shirt for $18, 40 years ago. And this story repeats over and over in almost every light manufacturing segment. Nevertheless the world is not necessarily over for them. They can still succeed in this new cruel world, but its going to require some serious strategic changes.
If you think about it, you’ll realize that that same free standing Home Depot, Malaysian made vanity will not fit in every bathroom. The door is still open to the custom cabinet maker who can build to fit the space available. Even if the Malaysians or their successors figure out the communications necessary to take custom orders, shipment times will make that end of the business impractical for a long time to come. So custom production or assembly runs provide one possible defense against annihilation by foreign competitors. In fact machine tool manufacturers, two and three man shops, are still doing a booming business creating single dies and custom specified parts. So too are the custom wooden louvered blind manufacturers, especially where they go into the home take window opening measurements and return to the shop to build them to fit.
The Malaysian vanity situation suggests another key: responsiveness. America’s light manufacturers are still closest to the end users. Where speed is important and sometimes it can be very important as when trying to respond to a fad, or a seasonal demand, the foreign competitors will have to think in terms of containers on ocean going ships and the month or two involved in oceanic transit. US light manufacturers who are willing to jump through hoops are going to get this type of business every time.
One arena that should not be overlooked is government business. The US Government is required to source through American manufacturers. State governments attempt to buy within states, counties and cities as well want to buy locally whenever possible. Getting up to speed on the governmental procurement processes is devilishly tedious, but well worth the investment in many cases. Here you are bidding again US or local competitors who have similar cost structures, laws, and regulations to deal with.
Finally there’s vertical integration. Typically, light manufacturers wholesale their products to retailers. Lately these retailers have been buying from foreign sources because there competitors buying form the foreigners. Let’s face, the average consumer does not care where the product is made or assembled, if he can get it for a hundred less, he’ll take it. But there’s some good profit sitting there between what the manufacturer now gets and what would be a good deal for the consumer. If the items are not too big or too heavy they can be shipped directly to the consumer via UPS. Even larger items that have to go by over-the-road freight, especially high value add items, can be economically crated and shipped in quantities of one. But how is the manufacturer to reach the consumer? Well the Internet provides one very practical and economical link to the consumer. The neat thing about marketing over the Internet is that advertising costs are still very minimal and that search engines provide a means for your customer to find you. Selling a physical product over the Internet has it’s drawbacks and challenges but it can be very rewarding.

The Winding Road to Success
That's not necessarily a bad thing, but you have to be adept at traveling the twisted path to success. I've met too many entrepreneurs who are so blindly focused on the end goal in front of them that they pass up the great opportunities that might be waiting along the side paths.
My business, SMB Connects, is a great example. When we created our initial business plan earlier this year, we had a clear vision of where we were headed. We wanted to be the company that connected entrepreneurs to the big businesses that wanted to market to them. It was going to be all about research and consulting. And then, before we even officially opened our doors, my phone rang. Someone (a big business to be sure, just not the kind we thought would be beating a path to our door) wanted to hire us to write a column and do some blogging for them. Then a breakfast with an old colleague led to a similar opportunity.
This wasn't part of our plan. We hadn't planned on being content providers, even though my partners and I have a long editorial history. We weighed our options. Stick to the original plan (which promised a big payoff eventually) or go where the immediate money was? Without hesitation we strayed off the original plan and went for the ready money. And a pattern was formed. It wasn't necessarily a bad pattern, but it kept taking us farther off our charted path.
Just this week, we sat down to talk about what we'd done and where we were headed. Should we abandon Plan A and stick with Plan B? After all, we were making good money and enjoying ourselves. If all this sounds a little familiar to you, I suggest you ask yourself the same question. And realize there's no wrong answer. As the old Yiddish proverb says, "Man makes plans, and God laughs." But it's a good idea to actually set aside the time to mull it all over. This is something too many entrepreneurs don't do. We're so busy running our businesses, or scrambling to make a sale or a connection, that we rarely stop to take notice of what we're actually doing.
There are many options that can emerge from this simple exercise. Do you drop Plan B (even though it's making you money) and return to Plan A? Do you abandon Plan A and stick with B? You could even come up with a Plan C or D. In our case we realized we didn't want to give up our original goal. Nor were we willing to stop following Plan B. So we incorporated Plan B into Plan A, and now our original scope is not only broader, but it carries the promise of an even bigger payoff.
I recently met an entrepreneur who achieved relatively quick success. But when her business (and the economy) hit a bump, she was so focused on the road straight ahead, she couldn't navigate the curve. As a consequence, she might lose everything she's built and a lot of money as well. Instead of pausing every now and then to do a quick reassessment, she now has to come up with an emergency plan just to stay afloat.
Of course, you can take this too far. An entrepreneurial friend of mine seems to be constantly restructuring his business goals. One day he wants to be X, and the next day he wants to be Y or Z. This won't work either. At some point you've got to stick with a plan long enough to see if you can make it work.
This can be hard for entrepreneurs. The possibilities never stop running through your head. Just last week the son of a successful entrepreneur (in a family-owned and run business) told me, "My dad's a typical entrepreneur. He has an epiphany every five minutes." But their company continues to thrive, even in this tough economic environment.
But the difference between this nimble entrepreneur and the one who is constantly restructuring his business goals is that the former has a strong staff surrounding him. People who aren't afraid to talk back, to challenge his notions and even make him defend those ideas. The other business owner has no employees, so there's no one there to question his actions.
I realize that not all of you can afford staff or have partners to consult with. That's why it's essential, no matter the size of your business, to have a trusted board of advisors you can turn to. It doesn't have to be formal and you don't even have to have regular meetings. But you need access to people you respect and who aren't afraid to question your decisions. You don't have to follow their advice, but you do have to slow down long enough to listen.

Got Money From Blog
Let's first look at the sources of revenue which are available for blog authors.
Ads
By placing ads on a blog it is possible to generate revenue from visitors who click on the ads. The most common source for ads is Google's AdSense. By signing up to Google AdSense and placing a small piece of code on your blog, Google will display their ads on your blog. Advertisers who signed up for Googles AdWords program pay Google for each click on ads and Google shares this revenue with blog owners displaying the ads. Google does not disclose how the revenue is shared they encourage you to sign up and try it out so you can see how much you generate and then decide if it is for you or not. Google places ads on webpages so they match the content on the page. A blog about traveling would therefore attract ads for airplane tickets, hotels etc. Since Google shares their revenue with you and since you want to generate a lot of revenue, you need to produce content for which ads pay well. There are tools available for determining for which keywords there is the most competition among advertisers content for such keywords will be content that generates the highest revenue. The revenue generated per click can be anywhere from a few cents to several dollars, depending on the advertiser competition. Normally, relatively few visitors to a website or blog will click on ads. There are ways to optimize a blog or website for achieving higher click through rates. You will be able to find varied (and sometimes contradictory) advice on what is the best strategy. Follow the links below, to sign up for Google's AdSense and for tools for finding the keywords for which there is a lot of advertiser competition.
Affiliate programs
Affiliate programs are a type of partnership, where are seller of a product shares the revenue generated from a sale with the affiliate who sent the customer to the seller's website. The percentage of revenue given to the affiliate can be from a few percent to as much as 75 percent. Affiliate programs are often supported by the company handling the online payment, who then takes care of paying the commission to the affiliate the minute the customer makes payment. An owner of a blog can become an affiliate of one or more sellers and send visitors to the sellers' websites, thereby generating revenue for the owner of the blog. Affiliate links (i.e., links from the affiliate to the sellers' websites) are easier to disguise as normal links, than ads provided by Google. The affiliate can create the links, so the customer may not even notice that the affiliate is affiliated with the sellers' websites. For this reason, a higher click through rate can be achieved this way than through ads. You can expect that only a few percent of visitors following your links end up making a purchase. So also for this option, a large amount of traffic is needed to generate good revenue. Follow the links below to learn more about affiliate programs and how to find products to promote.
Getting traffic
No matter which option for revenue you choose, the key to generating serious money is to get serious amounts of visitors for the blog. This means that your blog needs to be interesting for the reader and not just look like something made for you to make money. For this reason, you need to keep the amount of ads and affiliate links to a minimum. You need to produce content which appeals to readers and to add new posts regularly to keep visitors coming back. Topics like politics, religion, gaming, gossip, arts, sports - to name just a few seem to be popular topics. You need to select a topic which you yourself find interesting as this will make it easier for you to write articles that others will find engaging too. Blogs with a good amount of graphics seem to attract more visitors than blogs with a small amount of graphics. Besides having a blog which is interesting and make visitors return, you can get visitors using advertising, link building and other techniques used also for "normal" websites.

Blogging for Dollars
Copyright 2004 Sharon Housley
Blogging for dollars might sound like the latest game show or some new drinking game, but it's the latest craze to hit the Internet. Bloggers began blogging for a number of reasons, but as the blog movement has increased in popularity, they have found ways to monetize their blogs and are seeing their commitment pay off.
Whether a blogger's focus is to communicate with customers or just to have fun, they have begun looking at ways to earn revenue from their blogs. The most popular ways for bloggers to earn some added cash for their pet projects are:
1. ) Google Adsense in Blogs
Google AdSense allows webmasters to dynamically serve content-relevant advertisements in blogs. If the visitor clicks one of the AdSense ads served to the blog, the website owner is credited for the referral. Webmasters need only to insert a Google-generated java script into the blog or blog template. Google's spider parses the AdServing blog and serves ads that relate to the blog's content. Google uses a combination of keyword matching and context analysis to determine what ads should be served.
2. ) Affiliate Programs (Product Endorsements)
Affiliate Programs work when an affiliate web site receives income for generating sales, leads, or traffic to a merchant website. Generally, bloggers will mention or endorse specific products and if site visitors purchase the product, bloggers will receive a portion of the sale.
3. ) Product Promotion
Businesses use blogs to detail how specific features or product add-ons can increase functionality and save time. Content-rich product promotion will help with search engine placement.
4.) Banner Ads
While less popular than in the past, websites with high traffic levels can still earn decent revenue by selling banner space.
As the Internet evolves bloggers will continue to seek out ways to monetize their opinions and thoughts. Daily journals and online blogs have become more than just a communication means to many.
